Auger-Aliassime F. (Can) vs. Tsitsipas S. (Gre) – Score prediction (9.10.2019)

Overview.

Felix Auger Aliassime and Stefanos Tsitsipas will meet for the third time this season as the Greek looks to end his terrible record in this matchup. Though Stefanos Tsitsipas has been one of the top and consistent performers on the main tour over the last two seasons, he couldn’t win a set against the Canadian teenager — in Indian Wells and London.

In fact, Felix Auger Aliassime won all his three matches against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Junior circuits as well, at the expense of only one set. World #7 Stefanos Tsitsipas is understandably frustrated for not being able to end his losing streak against the world #19 Felix Auger Aliassime.
“It does worry me. It’s upsetting obviously that he’s better than me. I have to accept that he’s better than me. I might never beat him, but if I think that way, just need to wait, years maybe, for that chance to come. If not, then not. If yes, then fantastic. I’ll donate, I don’t know, 10,000 for that win to a charity,” said Stefanos Tsitsipas after losing the pair’s most recent meeting in London a few months ago.

Stefanos Tsitsipas was close to winning the fourth ATP World Tour title of his career (and third of the season) in Beijing last week as he led the championship match by a set and break against Dominic Thiem but ended up losing it in three sets, 6-3 4-6 1-6.

It was still a successful campaign for the Greek #1 Tsitsipas considering he was winless in five matches on the main tour before entering Beijing and was even forced to retire from his opening round match against Adrian Mannarino in Zhuhai.

Felix Auger Aliassime exposed 14 break point chances on his serve and dropped his serve twice during his unconvincing win over Alexander Bublik in the first round of Shanghai Masters on Tuesday (7-6 4-0, retired). It was the Canadian’s first-ever match in this Chinese outdoor hardcourt tournament.

ATP Shanghai Masters debutant, Felix Auger Aliassime has enjoyed a lot of success so far in 2019, such as finishing as the runner-up in Rio de Janeiro, Stuttgart, and Lyon and progressing to the semifinal in London and Miami. However, his current form is not good enough as he hasn’t won back-to-back matches since Montreal Masters.

While the Canadian is going through a rough patch at the moment, Stefanos Tsitsipas seems to have some fitness problems, which makes it difficult to pick a winner here. That said, Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the best fighters on tour at the moment and expect him to give his all to get his first win against Felix.
