Köln have lost on six of their eight visits to Mainz in the Bundesliga (W1 D1). Their loss percentage at Mainz is higher than away at any other Bundesliga side in their history (75%). The only Bundesliga side yet to draw, the hosts have scored a first-half opener in four of the five games that they’ve found the net, but have been leading at half-time in just two of their eight Bundesliga fixtures this term (HT: W2, D3, L3) – yet they did go on to win both.

Cologne are unbeaten in two (W1, D1), after suffering five defeats from their first six games, with three coming ‘to nil’. One major issue is that they’ve conceded the opener in six of their eight league fixtures so far. Simon Terodde has two league goals for Cologne, with both being netted in the first or last ten minutes. Away from home, the visitors have lost just one road trip (W1, D1, L1), but are yet to score a first-half away goal. Their away games have been defined by a lack of action, with five of six halves of football played witnessing just one or no side score.
